This is my favorite time of year. I absolutely love spring and based on what I’ve heard some of the other students say they do too. What is not to love though? Finally after months of icky weather the sun is out and everyone is no longer cooped up inside.
I enjoy the winter months too, it’s a nice break from the scorching august weather, and I will miss hot coco and playing in the snow. But boy am I ever ready for some sunshine. I like being able to not trudge around campus bundled up head to toe fighting the chilly wind. Instead I’d rather run around in shorts and a tee shirt enjoying the beauty of spring. I don’t even mind all the rain because I know that it will make the flowers grow and there is nothing wrong with curling up with a good book to pass the time because unlike winter the sun will soon be out again. It is the one type of year in Missouri where everything is beautiful. The grass is soft and green not that prickly brown. The clouds in the sky never looked so appealing and little animals frolic around taking advantage of the spring time.
I live on a farm and to me there few things better then the new kittens, puppies, and calves that we have running around. I also love taking long walks across my land or having a picnic in the park. And there is no better place to do homework than outside enjoying the scenery. Everything about spring makes me happy, including the upcoming spring break, but that’s just because I want to get outside too.
Soon the time will change and we’ll all have more hours to the day. I and most people I know would rather wake up to the sun shining then to dark sky’s like in the winter. Who cares if we have to spend those extra daylight hours doing yard work, when it’s this great outside it is best to just enjoy it. Eventually summer will come and while there is no school the days will be hot humid and we will again long for the peace of spring.
There are so many things to do this time of year. If picnics and walks aren’t up your alley then you could try different sports. At Easter my family sets up the bad mitten net and all the grandkids play it or baseball when were not eating and hunting for eggs. March is known for its windy weather so it’s great to fly kites. I also know several people that meet this time of year for games of kickball and Frisbee to name a few.
My only advice is that you make an effort to get out and enjoy the weather. I understand about work and life and being busy but you would be surprised at the number of things that can be done just as easily outside as inside. I hope you all have a happy spring and get to spend these beautiful days with the ones you love.

I like to take my daughter out to our nearby neighborhood park, it makes for a great day. Since the nice weather I have taken her out four different times. It's so nice to be able to just run around outside without freezing to death! I'm so glad spring is here.
ReplyDeleteI am reading this and I completely agree with how wonderful the weather was when you posted this. Unfortunately right now it is rainy and cold again. It appears that we have not completely transitioned into wonderful Spring weather. Hopefully soon though.
